Grants

The City of Porvoo provides grants to associations, organisations, communities and individual actors in Porvoo. The activities must support and complement the activities of the sector granting the grant and the implementation of the strategic objectives of the city. The city assists communities whose activities promote the health and well-being of residents, increase their own activity, solidarity and prevent exclusion.

The city grants associations and other actors with general and project grants. The budget available for grants shall be confirmed annually when the budget is decided upon, with the exception of grants distributed from revenues from funds.

We use Suomi.fi authorisations in the grant application process when acting on behalf of a company, association, or other organisation. Suomi.fi authorisation is called “Submitting a Grant Application” By this mandate the assignee may, on behalf of the assignor prepare, submit for processing and withdraw an application for a grant and measures related to grants. Culture grant Application period 1.3. - 31.3.2026 at 15.00
Cultural activities are supported by Project grants, Artist grants and Grants from the Hopea-Untracht Fund. The grants are intended for associations, groups, individuals, professional artists, artisans, orchestras, choirs and museums in Porvoo.
Grant for Adult Education Centre’s Student Unions Application period 1.3. - 31.3.2026 at 15.00
Grants may be granted for registered Adult Education Centre’s Student Unions activities in Porvoo.
General grant for Sport services Application period 1.3. - 31.3.2026 at 15.00
Registered sports clubs and associations in Porvoo are supported with Sport services’ general grants.
Youth grant Application period 1.3. - 31.3.2026 at 15.00
Youth activities are supported by general grants and salary subsidies for local youth associations, and grants for development projects and activities aimed at young people. Grants are also awarded to youth action groups.
Grant for community spirit Application period 1.3. - 31.3.2026 at 15.00
Residents' associations and village associations, parents' associations, pensioners' associations, folkloristic organisations, associations that organise events that support multicultural activities or integration, associations that promote the communality of the unemployed, and other associations, communities and groups that promote communality or civic activities can apply for a Grant for community spirit. Grants are awarded both for regular activities and for a specific activity such as an event.

Maintenance partnership Application period 15.8. - 15.9.2026 at 23.59
A maintenance partner of the City of Porvoo must be a registered association, foundation, company or sole trader. Maintenance partnerships are primarily established with Porvoo-based associations that have established and regular activities at the site covered by the partnership. A maintenance partnership may also be concluded with a national organisation that conducts regular activities in Porvoo. The autumn 2026 call for maintenance partnerships concerns the maintenance of the Virvik campsite and hiking area as well as the Kerkkoo hiking trail and hiking lodge for the period 2027–2029.
