- By clicking the title text you can view a summary of the cultivated idea proposal, as well a description of the original idea.
Reasons for the decision:
The idea meets the criteria. One can organise an event at each of the youth facilities to decide how the money should be spent, so that it is used entirely for the benefit of young people. In this case, the money should be spent on something that isn’t usually fulfilled in everyday life in the youth facilities; for example, it couldn’t be used to buy a pool table, but the young people who visit the facility could go on an excursion somewhere.
Description of the proposal:
€2,000 for each youth centre. Young people could decide what to do with the money together with their instructors. For example, new PlayStation games, a new pool table, or even an excursion. Youth facilities are great places where lots of young people go, and there are nice adults there who you can chat to, and who understand us young people.
Reasons for the decision:
The proposal meets the criteria and is planned well.
Description of the proposal:
A car simulator to Zentra is desired. Zentra had one on loan, and it was really popular – many young people tried it. A car simulator can help you learn to drive, and you can take advantage of driving skills when you go to driving school. Zentra has a large and good game room, and a car simulator would fit there perfectly.
Reasons for the decision:
Pupils in lower secondary schools and higher secondary schools spend a lot of their breaks indoors. They want to do things together and get some exercise as well, besides just sitting together. It would be possible to get a table tennis/ping pong table to every school, or, depending on the school’s decision, another similarly priced game or that encourages to move during breaks, or a piece of equipment for the school corridor. A sum of €1,700 per school is reserved for a table tennis table or similar
Description of the proposal:
The original ideas suggested installing ping pong tables at Linnajoen yläkoulu (Linnanjoki Lower Secondary School), but also at all lower and higher secondary schools
Reasons for the decision:
The pupils have asked for sofas for spending time together during breaks. “It’s nicer to sit on the sofa than on the floor” and “it makes us feel like this is our place”. The sofa proposals have been distributed to each school that submitted them. When you vote for this proposal, you are voting for a sofa/ sofas for Pääskytien koulu. All sofa proposals have been combined into a single proposal.
Description of the proposal:
The aim is to ensure that pupils enjoy themselves at school. There is a need for places where students can hang out.
Reasons for the decision:
The pupils have asked for sofas for spending time together during breaks. “It’s nicer to sit on the sofa than on the floor” and “it makes us feel like this is our place”. The sofa proposals have been distributed to each school that submitted them. When you vote for this proposal, you are voting for a sofa/ sofas for Lyceiparkens skola.
Description of the proposal:
We would like new sofas for Lypa. There are currently no sofas there. The intention is to purchase proper sofas that are durable for school use and that everyone can use. Sofas were installed in the 8th graders’ lobby and in the 9th graders’ lobby.
Reasons for the decision:
A gig featuring artists popular with young people can be organised at the Art Factory as part of the Porvoo River Carnival on 29 August. Young people’s involvement in the selection of artists will be planned separately. Similar wishes have been linked to the idea.
The event is organised jointly by: the Cultural Services, Visit Porvoo and the Youth Services.
Description of the proposal:
We are hoping for a big concert in Porvoo, for example at Pensselitehdas or at the Art Factory. A good artist, such as Korelon, Ebbe or Ares. You could also ask young people in advance which artists they would like to see.
Reasons for the decision:
The proposal meets the criteria and will proceed to a vote. The moped workshop does not have an electric tyre changer and introducing one would improve road safety.
Description of the proposal:
It is a good idea to change the tyres to keep the moped safe and roadworthy. A tyre changer would make changing tyres easier and also motivate people to change them.
"The tyre's bold but I can't be bothered to change it – oh, wait, there's a tyre changer at the workshop, so maybe I could change it after all." The electric tyre changer would be integrated into the moped workshop's operations and would support road safety education and activities for young people.
Reasons for the decision:
The pupils have asked for sofas for spending time together during breaks. “It’s nicer to sit on the sofa than on the floor” and “it makes us feel like this is our place”. The sofa proposals have been distributed to each school that submitted them. When you vote for this proposal, you are voting for a sofa/ sofas for the secondary school pupils at Albert Edelfeltin koulu. All sofa ideas have been combined into a single proposal.
Description of the proposal:
Greater motivation to study, fewer arguments with the teacher, lower secondary school pupils.
New sofas will make the room more cosy; you can also use them for studies.
Reasons for the decision:
The proposal meets the criteria. The budget covers the installation of three garden swings.
Description of the proposal:
Swings around the city, also in unexpected places. They bring joy and create places where people can meet. As the target group is young people, we can consider places where young go, but the swings could be designed to also attract children and older people.
Reasons for the decision:
The proposal meets the criteria. The budget will cover repairs to the artificial grass, painting of the goalposts and replacing the goal nets.
Description of the proposal:
Repair the football pitch at Hornhattula
Reasons for the decision:
The proposal by the Linnankoski Upper Secondary School’s Student Council board wants to be sent to a vote. It is impossible to meet all schools’ needs for lockers through participatory budgeting, but this is a clear single case.
Description of the proposal:
Lockers would be a good and useful addition to the secondary school. The lockers would reduce the need to carry heavy books and belongings around all day, which would make school days easier for pupils and improve their well-being. They would also improve security: for example, during practice or other appointments, you wouldn’t have to leave your belongings unattended in the lobby or carry them around everywhere. The school lobby is often crowded and there isn’t enough space for belongings, so lockers would make better use of the space, as some students could store their belongings in them and items wouldn’t be left lying around in the corridors. The aim of the idea is to make everyday life for upper secondary school pupils smoother, more pleasant and safer. The positive effects would include improved ergonomics, reduced stress and a tidier school environment. The target group is all pupils at the upper secondary school, and in practice the lockers would be available for all students.
Reasons for the decision:
To the Jackarby sports field, three movable disc golf baskets as well as a table and bench set on the field.
Description of the proposal:
There are many children and young people living in the area, as well as their parents, and there is a need for a place where everyone can gather to play, have fun, and enjoy themselves. There are football goals, but more varied options would be needed, such as disc golf or similar activities, as well as benches and tables. Simply put, a place for the whole family.
Reasons for the decision:
The Uusimaa Arena is not under the city’s authority. It can proceed further, but must be organized on a city-owned field.
Description of the proposal:
A football tournament for 13–16-year-olds. Many different teams will participate, with 11 players per team. The tournament will last all day, and food will be provided for the players. The referee must be an adult. The event is free of charge.
Reasons for the decision:
The idea meets the criteria. There is no dyno test bench at the moped workshop. According to reasoning, the use of a dynamometer in the activities would improve road safety and assist young people in activites with mopeds.
Description of the proposal:
A dynomometre for measuring power, for the moped workshop in Porvoo; it would improve road safety as it would allow to check that the mopeds have the correct amount of power. The dyno test bench can also be taken along to various moped events.
Reasons for the decision:
The idea meets the criteria and will proceed to the vote. The printer would be placed in Zentra, as there isn’t enough room for it in the moped workshop. This would also increase the printer's versatile use.
Description of the proposal:
You could print parts, decorations etc. for a moped. The printer could also be one that can print metal parts, but then the price would be considerably higher. The idea has been further beveloped, and it will be placed at the Zentra Youth Club. The cost estimate is based on a printer capable of printing large metal parts.
Reasons for the decision:
The idea will proceed to a vote, with the virtual room being changed to an virtual iWall, which is more openly accessible and brings young people together. The iWall would be placed at the Youth Club Zentra
Description of the proposal:
The VR Room is meant for all children and young people. You can have fun there with other young people. The aim is to bring people together. It is difficult to set aside an entire room at Zentra for this purpose, and the room would always be available to only a small group at any one time. Furthermore, the room would tie up one member of staff in its upkeep. We have estimated that the virtual iWall would be easy to build, and there is space for it at Youth Club Zentra, and the estimated cost is roughly the same. The wall would be available for use by a larger group, and no staff would need to be assigned to it.
Reasons for the decision:
The original idea of a "Gig on New Year's Eve" has been adapted and combined with similar wishes for a varied event, and an opportunity for local bands to perform. The costs of organising an outdoor concert will be high, so the event will be held indoors. We will take your preferred date into account in the planning, but it is possible that the event will be held on another suitable date due to cost. Other side shows and the involvement of the young people in the selection of the artists will be planned separately.
Description of the proposal:
A day-long celebration. Activities for families with children in the early evening, and music and artists for young people in the evening. We can support local emerging artists and give them the opportunity to perform and showcase their own art.
Reasons for the decision:
The proposal meets the criteria. The budget covers the cost of a ping pong table, including installation.
Description of the proposal:
I propose that we get an outdoor ping pong table and place it in Hornhattula, for example near the Hornhattula football- and basketball fields. The aim is to increase the area’s appeal, sense of community and provide low-treshold opportunities for excericse for people of all ages. An outdoor ping pong table offers a free and easily accessible way to get some exercise and spend time together. It encourages children and young people to spend their free time actively, and offers adults and older people a pleasant way to excercise and meet other residents. The table promotes health, social interaction and the vibrancy of the area. The target group is particularly children, YOUNG PEOPLE, families and other residents in the area, but it is open to everyone.
Reasons for the decision:
What and how could we tell lower secondary school and upper secondary school students about perseverance and survival? How should one really react to violence? It has been proposed that participatory budgeting could be used to provide lectures on these topics. We are looking to spend the money on one Finnish and one Swedish-speaking performer. The events would be held during the autumn.
Description of the proposal:
Heidi Foxell, the police officer injured in the Hyvinkää shooting, gives talks to young people across Finland, where she shares her story and tries to help to prevent violence.
Reasons for the decision:
Benches for the field at Huhtisen koulu (Huhtinen School)
Description of the proposal:
There is only a log on the field by Huhtinen School on top of which you can put on your skates. You have to leave your shoes and bags in the snow. The field needs a proper bench that can be used when changing equipment. It would be nice if there was a shelter to protect the bags and clothes in case it snows or rains.
Reasons for the decision:
The proposal meets the criteria. The budget covers the cost of a halfpipe for skateboarding, including installation.
Description of the proposal:
The idea is to build, or commission the construction of, a new skateboarding ramp at the Hornhattula skateboarding place. The aim is to get young people moving and to spend more time together and outdoors. One of the positive effects of this idea would be to get young people to spend time outdoors with their friends and hobbies. The target group would be young people, but children and adults would also benefit from the new skateboarding ramp.
